In this newsletter we will introduce you to another member of our leadership team, Andy Ladyk. I also want to share with you some unique opportunities that are ours. A significant shift has taken place in missions over the past 10 years. Previously evangelized people that westerners would call “the mission field” have themselves become indigenous missionaries.
For MTEE this change has come about as those who have been trained through our Bachelor’s and Master’s Programs have immigrated to other countries. Our reputation for excellence in biblical education has grown and as a consequence has created more opportunities in other nations.
There is a need to send pastors and instructors to these nations where we already have an existing work. They would become “instructors-in-residence” establishing strong mentoring and ministry connections with pastors and students in the host countries and colleges.
Thus we have two needs – one for a new work and the second for existing works. Listed below is the new opportunity as well as the existing works and the budgets necessary to further the work in these locations.
- Khabarovsk, Russia – MTEE has existing Bible schools in two cities in the Khabarovsk region, training regional pastors as instructors for their own church’s Bible school. Instruction is face-to-face. Instructors currently fly every other month from Ukraine to conduct classes, but this is very costly, both in terms of money and time. There is a need for this work to become residential, with an instructor committing to live with his/her family in the Khabarovsk region (one year initial commitment with the possibility of extending).
- First year funds needed: Residential – Travel $2,000; Living expenses $20,000
- Second year: Residential – Travel $2,000; Living expenses $15,000
- Madrid, Spain – There is an existing Bible school centered in Madrid but covering three different cities in Spain. Instruction is face-to-face. Instructors currently fly every quarter from Ukraine to conduct classes. It is our desire for this work to become residential, with an instructor committing to live with his/her family in the Madrid area (one year initial commitment with the possibility of extending).
- First year expenses: Residential – Travel $1,000; Living expenses $30,000
- Second year: Residential – Travel $1,000; Living expenses $20,000
- Uzbekistan – We have the opportunity for a start-up partnership with four denominations to establish a Bible school in Tashkent. Instruction would be a combination of face-to-face and online. In the second year, a teacher-missionary would be in residence, living with his/her family in the Tashkent area.
- First year expenses: (Non residential) Travel $1,000; Living expenses $3,000
- Second year expenses: (residential) – Travel $500; Living expenses $10,000
The total Budget for the first year = $57,000
The total Budget for the second year = $48,500
The Budget total for two years = $105,000
I would ask you to be in prayer with us that God will supply the necessary funds for these programs. Perhaps some of you would be willing to give toward making these programs happen. May God bless you richly.
Serving together,
Rev. E. R."Ernie"Campe
