Vision and Values

OUR VISION

We are committed to equipping "God's people for works of service so that the body of Christ may be built up." Eph. 4:12

Ministry To Educate and Equip International (MTEE) is a 501(c)3 trans-denominational organization whose primary goal is to equip Christian leaders in Europe and Asia through:

Education

"My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge." Hosea  4:6

"Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."  II Tim. 2:15

Translating and Printing

"Turn your ear to wisdom and apply your heart to understanding." Pr. 2:2

Pastoral Mentoring

"You have many teachers but not many fathers." I Cor. 4:15

Family Life Ministry

“Wives be submissive to your husbands…Husbands love your wives as Christ loved the church...Fathers, do not exasperate your children” Eph. 5:22,25;6:4

Children’s Ministry

"Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he shall not depart from it." Pr. 22:6

Our core values are:

  1. Educating and equipping – people to reach people for Christ.
  2. Freedom – within our vision, to explore and follow after the leading of the Holy Spirit in our lives and ministry.
  3. Openness – to working with others in fulfilling our vision.
  4. Stewardship – in the wise use of our talent, time and treasures.
  5. Integrity – in our handling of the word of God and in all our dealings with people.

MTEE is committed to educating, equipping and encouraging the national pastors and their churches so that they will impact their nations for Jesus Christ.

So what, exactly, does that mean ... and just how do we accomplish that mission?

It means we are committed to education, education that meets the needs of the students - pastors, teachers and others in the churches of Eastern and Central Europe and the former Soviet Union - in terms of quality, affordability and accessibility.

It means we are committed to equipping the church's leaders and consequently their congregations. A pastor, who is trained in teaching, counseling, theology, discipleship, evangelism and other areas of the faith, will impart their knowledge and wisdom to the congregations. The congregation is then equipped to reach out to the nation with the news about Jesus.

It means we desire to be an encouragement to the people of Eastern and Central Europe by offering the following programs:

Bible Colleges

MTEE sponsors Bible Colleges that can confer up to a Bachelor of Ministry degree on those who complete the accredited four-year program of study. These colleges are unusual in that they are local, church-based schools. In other words, a local church will host a college - providing the physical facilities for the students to meet for their classes.

Most of the time, classes are conducted on a weekend - Friday evening and all day Saturday. The student gets their classroom lecture and then has the rest of the month for assigned reading, writing papers and any practical ministry related to the course. Then they take a final exam and that completes one course. One course a month from September through June makes 10 courses and that completes one year of college.

The advantage of this model is twofold: (1) MTEE does not tie up funds in building. Rather, we use currently existing facilities and thus are able to invest more of a donor's gifts in the students' education, and (2) pastors and others who desire an education are able to keep their positions and study at a school within close proximity to them. They therefore do not need to leave their work, uproot their families and move to a residential school to receive a quality education and they have some flexibility in their study schedules.

Textbook Printing

One of the essential components of a theological education are textbooks. In most cases, MTEE secures copyright permissions for books and the national offices with printing facilities do the translation, editing, setup and printing. In some cases, textbooks are acquired through local printing/publishing houses in the nation. In either case, the purpose is to provide every student, in every course, with a textbook in his or her own language.

Successful Parenting Seminars

Seminars are being offered in the local church on how to be successful parents. A follow-up to the seminars are small groups where parents can discus the problems associated with parenting and watch and discuss a counseling video on problems encountered in child rearing.  This program is being expanded to include all areas of family life.

Children's Ministry

In most nations of Eastern Europe, Sunday School is unheard of. In Bulgaria, our people have written a book on how to do children's ministry and have trained the nationals to teach this curriculum in the churches. Godly teachers are being trained to teach children in a Sunday School setting.

This program has been reproduced in the Ukraine. The teachers that have been trained there have gone into Russia and Moldova teaching godly teachers in the churches how to to develop a quality children's ministry.  This program will be expanded in the near future.

Pastors Mentoring Program

While classroom education is essential, we also believe that education and training for ministry do not stop there. Through our Mentoring Program, training for ministry also takes place through personal relationships. Many pastors in Eastern Europe have not been pastors or Christians for a long time. Often, they lack experience in the pastoral ministry.

Through the Mentoring Program, MTEE connects those with years of ministry experience with pastors in Eastern Europe. These 'mentors' serve as spiritual fathers and examples to the younger and less experienced pastors by sharing their experience and wisdom and by offering support, encouragement and a listening ear.

Graduate School

Students who have an interest may study for a Masters degree in Theology through our graduate programs in Ukraine and Belarus. In addition, a Masters in Theology or Counseling may be persued through our correspondence program.  At the moment, the possibility of a graduate program in Bulgaria is being discussed.
