Coming to America

By Alexander (Sasha) Vasilevsky

Sasha is the Dean of our Bachelor’s program
and part of our leadership team in Kiev, Ukraine

My name is Alexander Vasilevsky. I live in Rivne, Ukraine. First of all I would like to thank God and the Ministry To Educate and Equip for the opportunities to serve our Lord. I have had the honor to work together with MTEE for nearly 20 years, since 1997. All this time I cannot help but be amazed at what God does through ordinary people all over the face of the Earth.

This year began with a very important mission – the beginning of the ministry to the Russian-speaking diaspora in the United States. Together with Vision International University, a bachelor program in ministry was started in Portland, Oregon. The Home of God Church (Pastor David Klassen) opened its doors, providing opportunities for training. Although the group consisted of 25 students, the average attendance was 35-40 people. The first session was devoted to Leadership and Pastoral Theology. In addition, there was an opportunity to fellowship with the ministers and church members after sessions.

We also began to work together with The New Life Church in Atlanta, Georgia (Pastor Vasily Lantukh). A Bible school was opened at this church, similar to an alpha course, which provides anyone in the church with a program that prepares them for success in the bachelor program. There were also teachers’ training classes for those who will be a part of this ministry in the future. I would like to express my special gratitude to MTEE’s President, Dr. Paul Shotsberger and to Valentina Grenchuk for the opportunity to make this trip. Also, a huge thanks to all those who support the work of MTEE around the world. God’s grace and blessings.
